While in-clinic visits are fully covered, insurance doesn't cover the full cost of at-home screening yet. The $99 fee covers the kit and mailing services.

Everything you might be wondering.
We are working with major insurance plans, including Cigna, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. We also have a cash pay option and are HSA/FSA available. Teal is actively working to expand coverage and make screening at home accessible and affordable.
With in-network insurance, the Teal Wand costs $99. Without insurance, cash pay pricing is $249. Both prices include everything: the Teal Wand kit, virtual provider visits, lab processing, results, and follow-up support. There are no additional fees, subscription requirements, or follow-up payments.
Cervical cancer screening is a preventive care service, and insurance typically covers in-clinic screening at no cost. However, insurance providers have not yet extended full coverage to the at-home screening kit itself or the mailing services needed for kit delivery and sample shipment. The $99 reflects costs associated with aspects of at-home screening that insurance does not yet cover. Teal is actively working to ensure at-home screening receives the same full coverage as in-clinic screening.
No. The $99 is not a copay. It reflects costs for components of at-home screening that insurance does not yet fully cover, specifically the screening kit and mailing services. All plans should cover the services involved in prescribing the test, processing the sample, and returning results, as cervical cancer screening has received an A grade from the USPSTF. This cost does not count toward your out-of-pocket maximum.
Yes, Teal Health costs can be covered by HSA (Health Savings Accounts) and FSA (Flexible Spending Accounts). Teal Health works with major insurance plans, including Cigna, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. We also have a cash pay option.
Please note, we cannot service Medicaid or Medi-Cal patients at this time, even as self-pay (cash pay) patients.
We are on a mission to get everyone screened for cervical cancer and are always working to expand our network of insurance providers.
Teal cannot service Medicaid and Medicare patients at this time, including as self-pay (cash pay) patients. Teal is actively working to expand coverage and is advocating for broader insurance coverage of at-home self-collection as a standard preventive care benefit.
If your insurance provider is not currently in-network with Teal, you can still order using the cash pay option at $249. Teal also provides superbilling documentation that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. You can also use HSA or FSA funds. Teal is continuously expanding its network of insurance partners.
